Outdoor bootcamp in Chester le Street/Co Durham

Outdoor bootcamp in Chester le Street/Co Durham

So i have managed to make a little promotional video from one of my outdoor weight loss circuit bootcamps.  We have a growing tribe that attend my little offerings, the fact is a formula of big compound exercises with intervals is the best way to achieve great fitness and weight loss.

Every thing else is just conjecture, you see doing a class every day isn't good either as you soon feel the effects of adaptation.  This means you no longer burn a lot of fat or build muscle.  Also some exercise classes contain poor or contra indicative exercises which are probably damaging you rather than helping you get fit.

My Bootcamp out door circuit changes every single session to ensure lots of different training and no adaptation.  Also because we always concentrate on specific areas we can rest body parts too ensure optimum progression.

Not only that, it's awesome fun as well as being hard work.

Come along and try Glenn Hill outdoor circuit at the riverside Park:

Monday at 6.10pm

Wednesday at 11.00am
Wednesday at 6.10pm outdoor mini 10 minute session.

"This is about dirty toilets"
improving the health of the North East and County Durham

I went to a business meeting today with health workers, charities and other fitness professionals keep reading.

I am trying to get involved in improving the health of Companies in the NE.

This meeting was all about saving the Health Service and Government time and money by improving the health of North East companies which will reduce health issues amongst us working types in the North East.

It's a great idea and healthier fitter people is my goal too but i had a look around and what i noticed told me a lot.  Lots of the health charities had a nice table with plenty of presentation materials but the fitness professionals in the room had an empty table with not a lot to catch the eye.  They also looked un energetic and not very fit...what an advert i thought.

I arrived early and chose the largest and best area.
This was my first time at one of these events and my table and area looked great myself and my other staff wearing fitness type uniform, with youtube promotional videos playing, music from my tabatas playing, a massage table ready to be used and loads of interesting stuff to look at and read.

You see i offer more than anybody else, i know this and my table in this business meeting needed to promote this fact.

This is the way i think: if i go into a restaraunt toilet and it is not immaculate i will not eat the food because i believe if the little things like toilet cleanliness are not looked after i dread to think how disgusting the food is.

The same at this meeting: If these exercise professionals/gyms cannot be bothered to put the effort into promoting their services and facilities i wonder how much effort they put into their clients and members.

No names but these other tables are huge national gyms and gov run fitness types and if they are not bothered preparing a few leaflets and exciting stuff on their table i dread to think what they are like with their clients and members.

Anyhoo thats my rant over and my advice to you is: if you would like to hire a Personal Trainer or need a fitness service look at everything including personal presentation.  If your PT is wearing a baseball hat and a body warmer while he/her is training you are they professional (dirty toilets).

If your company or business needs a little boost why don't you try our corporate packages.  We can run team building, confidence boosting, health improving bespoke packages to kickstart any work force.

What is the best way to get white teeth

What is the best way to get white teeth

"Have you heard about oil pulling"
Personal Trainer Durham - Glenn Hill
What is the best way to get white teeth

Righty ho this blog is all about your teeth, and the fact that your mouth is the gateway to good health.

Some sports coaches won't train an athlete with poor mouth health, studies suggest individuals with poor mouth health have a bigger risk of heart disease.

With oil pulling you swill your mouth with a clean oil like coconut oil for between 10 and 20 minutes 5 times a week.  I can only manage about 10 as it's not a real nice experience.

Make sure you don't spit it into the sink or toilet as it will solidify and clog it, spit it into the bin.

Its supposed to fix all known ailments lol, well it is good keep reading......

However, the oil only goes about a millimeter deep, and more serious infections are three, four, or five millimeters deep. "It should not be used for people with gum disease," A dentist stressed. "Or they are going to end up losing their teeth."
However what about the other claims, from a nutritional and health standpoint? Is it a big fix for all possible health issues or what? Well yes, in so much as a dramatic improvement in oral health affects everything:
"As we improve oral health, we improve so many other things in the body,". "People with bad oral hygiene have higher incidence for cardiovascular issues such as heart attack and strokes, and a higher incidence for pneumonia. Men with periodontal disease have a greater risk of erectile dysfunction. Even with diabetes, improved oral health can help control problems in diabetic patients. Also, pregnant women with gum disease have lower birth-weight babies. Yes — everything is connected."
To say nothing of the connection to bad breath or sore throats or other things that would likely be linked to constant infection in the mouth. And what of the improved sinuses, and skin clarity, and cavity-healing people are raving about post-oil-swishing?
"Well, yes, the mouth is connected to the sinuses and the ear canal, so people with improved oral hygiene can decrease ear infections and sinus infections," she said. "Tooth infections can be related to sinus infections. But we've found improvement for that with Xylitol, too, a sugar substitute. Toothpaste with Xylitol also decreases ear infections in kids by 50 percent."
This means is that in the rush to give oil pulling the thumbs up as a cure-all, what we've really just discovered is an old way to clean your mouth more thoroughly than you probably are now. And it probably seems really appealing as a new and improved thing to do, instead of just getting back in there with ye olde toothbrush and floss. But doing that would also make you feel a lot better, too.

So the hype is pretty much true, a friend of mine started it two days ago and has already noticed her teeth being whiter and looking cleaner.

I will show you some before and after teeth photos in a couple of weeks, likewise if it works for you please send your before and afters to: i.trainhard@yahoo.co.uk

how to get a six pack and get fit - durham/gateshead/washington

how to get a six pack and get fit - durham/gateshead/washington

If you want to get fit and stay fit, it's not rocket science really it is super simple.  You can make a dance song about eat sleep  train repeat, eat sleep train repeat.
The reason that nearly everybody gets it wrong is because one of these three simple processes for fitness, fat loss and muscle gain.
three tips to getting fit - durham/gateshead/washington

Eat
Every meal (including breakfast) should be based upon protein. They are the building blocks of muscle so get it in wherever you can. Meat, fish and eggs and lots of it. 2 to 3 grams per pound of bodyweight is a good place to start.
You need to be on a calorie surplus to grow (you need to be taking in more calories then you are burning), and although it can be hard to keep these calories all clean, it is possible. Fat dense food will be high in calories and will have a great satiety effect so make for a great snack during the day. Lots of avocados, coconut, nuts, salmon and grass fed butter. Not only will good fats help with getting the calories in, it will keep your testosterone high so you feel great and keep growing!
Sleep
It is all well and good eating and training like a Arnie, but unless you are giving your body the time to repair and recover you can kiss any increase in muscle mass goodbye. During training, you will cause your muscles to tear.  When you sleep, reproduction and regeneration of cells will be at a higher state allowing for good recovery. 8 hours a night is perfect, more if possible after a heavy gym session.  Also try and not be stressed, being stressed ensures your body is in the wrong nervous system and stops regeration.

Train
Lift heavy, heavier than you probably think. who has the time to spend hours in the gym every day, so don’t waste your time repping out 100 bicep curls. Make your workouts count and lift heavy. If your programme doesn’t include squats, deadlifts, bench and pull ups… change your programme! . To stop adaptation (your body getting used to exercise) be sure to change your programme every 5-7 to keep your body improving.
Include some short HIIT sessions in your weekly training to fight any fat trying to creep in from those surplus calories. Hill sprints work wonders.
AND REPEAT - SIMPLES
Try it, i mean really try it for a good amount of time with a bit of dedication and see the results.

Heya tribe

So what do you get from a personal trainer for your money and what is good value?

So some people believe that a Personal Trainer is an expense they cannot afford and only for the rich.  Well it's all relative, because if your health, hapiness and body image are important you will find a way.

What's more important? A flat telly or a flat belly lol.

I am an ex Army physical training instructor, athlete and personal trainer and if i wanted to be at my fittest i would definitely pay some one to help me.  Even i could use some help with motivation to get into the best shape.

This is what lots of Personal trainers do:

  • Stand for one hour next to clients counting repetitions
  • Pat them on the back and say well done
  • Give a basic calorie restrictive diet
Glenn Hill offers something a little different:
  • Learns his clients life and helps understand the route of any issue.
  • Designs a stress relief plan because stress is the main issue.
  • Create and monitor a nutrition plan based around carb cycling and detoxification by elimination.
  • Training plan based around conjugated training, often used by professional sports team.  Resistence training, Plyometrics, Interval training and metabolic training.
  • Goal setting using SMART goals.  Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Time based.
  • Free recipe book.
  • Free ebooks including metabolism boosting, alcohol and weight loss, Motivation for weight loss.
  • Online mini workout library with loads of workouts, top tips and promotional videos.
  • Inclusive/Free Gym membership as part of the PT.
  • BodyMap assessments when required it can reduce pain, improve power and flexibility within 10 minutes.  This stuff is amazing cutting edge brain science stuff and nobody else is doing it around here.
  • Teach you a new hobby which can change your habits and keep you fit forever.  Mountain biking, Canoeing, Kayaking, Climbing, Skiing, Snowboard Mountaineering etc.
  • Email or web blogs passing on lots of my knowledge into easily understandle jargon-less bits to help my tribe stay in great shape.
  • Over a 100 mini 10 minute tabata style workouts that are time proven amazing fitness sessions.
  • Free access to all of my amazing classes: Including Trainhard tabata, Army Circuit and Metarun.  In my opinion the best selection of wieght loss classes with County Durham.
  • 18 years of fitness experience to call upon to advise and empathise with you issues.
  • A depth of knowledge of your problems as i specialise in female PT and i work and own an all Ladies Gym.
  • A lot of this may seem like mumbo jumbo, but it's a lot of work in the back ground to ensure i provide only the best service of anyone in the North East.
I hope you now agree that i offer more than any other personal trainer you have heard of or about.

how mountain biking can help you lose weight

how mountain biking can help you lose weight

how mountain biking can help you lose weight
As a personal trainer who is desperate to help my clients at all costs i sometimes think it's just too tough.  You see i only have between 1 and 3 hours from a total of 168 a week to change my clients and promote a habit change.

You get frustrated if they dont achieve their goals as quick as they wish, however if they eat the wrong food at home and spend too much time without movement of-course they wont get in great shape.

A great way of helping any weight loss program is to have a healthy hobby such as walking, mountain biking, canoeing and climbing.  Its a fact that most of your daily calorie expenditure is done during the NEAT time (non exercise activity thermogenesis) so when you are at work, play or in the house.

I coach and teach all adventure activities so i often coach my personal training clients at one of these activities thus not only increasing the amount of weekly calories used but also providing them with a healthy hobby for life.

Currently coaching two clients at mountain biking which is brilliant fun, zero impact so its great for your joints and uses around 700 calories per hour.

So my tribe, if you have a little weight to lose or if you just want to defend yourself against middle aged spread think about getting a healthy hobby.

Other benefits include less stress hormone release, increased vitamin D (feel good hormone) and improved metabolism.

Phone Glenn 07983570574 and discuss an activity you might like to learn this summer.  I can also run week long adventure fitness bootcamps in the country side.

how to goal set for weight loss in Newcastle/Chester le Street

how to goal set for weight loss in Newcastle/Chester le Street
how to goal set for weight loss in Newcastle/Chester le Street

Personal Trainer Newcastle

This blog is all about goal setting my
awesome tribe.  So to achieve anything in
this day and age you need to set realsitic
goals, without goals you are aimless and
being aimless doesn't lead to improved
fitness or weight loss.

Having real goals is the only real way to sustained fitness.

Glenn Hill can help

SMART GOALS

In order for goals to translate into motivation and improved performance, goals must be
specific.

A goal to just jump higher is too general. Instead, an example of a specific goal would
be to drop 7lb of fat.

Goals must be measurable to be able to provide progress feedback and to know when
the goal is achieved.
You must be able to measure the results so a goal of having more energy isnt really
measurable, however losing 7lb of body fat is.

A goal must be attainable to an individual or a group.
An individual who has a large body type and frame a mesamorph simply will not be able to become very skinny, they can be athletic but not skinny.

The goal must be challenging, yet realistic.
In terms of weight loss losing 2 stone of fat and gaining muscle at the same time within a
month is impossible.  Now losing 8lb of weight with a mixture of weight loss and putting on
lean muscle is achievable with hard work and a good personal trainer.

In order for goals to positively affect motivation and performance, goals must be
time-related.
The goals must be time related, for example losing a certain amount of weight or fat, or
gaining an amount of muscle in a short amount of time.  A large time frame is demotivating
as it is almost impossible to keep motivation for large durations.  A more realsitic time would
be a month or at longest 3 months.   Also when you write your goals down which i suggest you
do you must write in the current tense as your brain doesn't recognise future when it comes to
goal setting.  For example i am so pleased i have lost 3lb of fat this month.

So it's not difficult really and i cannot stress enough how important goal setting is, it can really
help with all your weight loss or toning issues.

However with the help of a great personal trainer it will make the whole process much easier.

How to get a six pack by eating the right food - Chester le Street

How to get a six pack by eating the right food

07983570574

How to get a six pack by eating the right foodEat regularly:  Eating healthy snacks regularly staves off hunger and stops you gorging on fatty meals.  You also stop your body’s natural tendency to store fat when it thinks there’s no food on the way.  Five meals is best, then if not four meals and so on.

Calories counting:  If you want to lose fat you have to burn off more calories through exercise and activity than you are consuming with food.  The average amount of calories a day we burn just to stay alive is between 1500-2500, this is your basal metabolic rate, the energy you use no matter what you’re doing, even when sleeping, than add any extra burnt off through exercise.  If you eat 500 calories less per day, you will lose around a pound of fat per week.  You can use a great app download called myfitnesspal which tells you the calories in food and helps track food and weight.

Protein:  Protein is vital for repairing muscles damaged by exercise and making them stronger again.  It also takes more energy to process than other foods, so it’s less likely to be turned into fat.  Aim to eat 1g of protein per kilo of body weight per day, 2g if you are doing some serious Bodybuilding.  Good sources include meat, fish, eggs and dairy.

Eat Leafy Greens:  when you exercise you put a lot of strain on your body’s immune system.  It can be kept in the best condition possible with the antioxidants found in leafy greens and dark coloured fruits and vegetables.

Drink Water:  Water is very important to keep you hydrated during exercise but it also helps to stave off those hunger pains and prevents the body hanging on to fat stores.

Eat the Right Fats:  Your body actually needs fat to function properly, around 30%.  Make sure you are getting the healthy kind such as those found in fish, olive oil, nuts and seeds.  Limit your intake of artery-clogging saturated fats found in red meat and trans fatty acids found in processed foods such as cakes and biscuits.

Drink Green Tea:  Green tea has been known to contain a whole host of health-giving properties.  One is the ability to help your body digest fat stores.

Avoid Alcohol:  Alcohol contain empty calories, which means the calories you consume with alcohol go straight into the body without providing any real nutritional or health benefit.  Your body has no method of storing alcohol instead it will try and remove the alcohol and during this time your fat burning process is turned off.

Avoid Ready Meals:  ‘Reduced Fat’ or ‘Low Fat’ this is what the label reads, this often means the product has very little fat but has a loads of sugar and salt instead to add flavor.  Sugar is the main reason why we get fat in the first place, it’s the sugar that gets turned to fat in the body that makes us fat and we all know the having to much salt in the diet is bad for us, which can raise your blood pressure, which puts you at increased risk of health problems such as heart disease and stroke.

So enjoy some extra help when it comes to losing weight or getting rthe body of your dreams.  Personal Trainer Glenn is the number one female weight loss expert in Newcastle and County Durham.

Ladies at Leisure are trialing the Primal Flow exercise class next tuesday thje 22nd of April 2014.  We are always trying to improve our services and improve fitness of the ladies of Chester le Street and Co Durham.

Primal Flow is a new bodyweight training system which can maximise the movement potential of the human body. The system allows you to create an unlimited number of exercises using natural movement patterns such as pulling, pushing, squatting and crawling, and put them into a workout structure which has a more functional carry over to sports and activities than traditional exercise formats whilst enhancing your enjoyment and motivation to train.
Essentially it’s about building sequences of movements rather than repeating the same movement for a certain number of repetitions as in normal resistance training.

What are the best diets in newcastle/durham/north east

What are the best diets in newcastle/durham/north east

I would recommend a carb cycling diet or even a detox diet if you believe that you may have an intolerance.  Or a combination of both a cArb cycling elimination style diet which kick starts the metabolism while removing foods that may be stopping your weight loss. CLICK HERE FOR FREE CARB CYCLING DIET AND MY WEIGHT LOSS BLOG

Personal trainer glenn hill-newcastle/durham

I have borrowed some information here(thanks) to provide a list of diets and the pros and cons for these diets, what's safe and what isn't. If you like what you read, please leave a comment!

Carb cycling

carb cycling is pitting high and low carb days against one and other in order to kick start the metabolism.  When used properly it can have you dropping pounds quickly with no negative health effects.

Pro's this method is good to keep the metabolism stoked and energy laden.  Quick results and we are still eating healthy foods just playing with micro nutrient percentages.

Con's this method can be difficult to follow as you have to eat 5 small meals of a similar size.  Some people find it impossible.  You might get tired on your second day of low carbs.

Atkins Diet

This diet, created by Robert Atkins, is a very carbohydrate restricted approach to dieting. The lack of carbohydrates in your diet lowers your insulin levels. When your insulin levels are low your body goes in to a state called ketosis, which is when your body uses lipase (fat) as a source of fuel because the muscle and liver energy levels are low.

There is a common misconception that followers of the Atkins Nutritional Approach are allowed to eat unlimited amounts of proteins and fats. In actual fact, dieters are recommended to eat just enough protein to feel full.
Pro's: You don't always feel hungry on the Atkins diet. You're not restricted to a certain amount of calories like most other diets. Weight loss occurs quickly.
Con's: Weight loss is often short lived. Eggs, bacon and chicken get boring after a while. Too much ketosis, the burning of fat for fuel, can lead to ketoacidosis (keto-acid-osis). Ketoacidosis is excess production of ketones that insulin can't get rid of which puts the body in a highly acidic state.
Should I do the Atkins diet?: I would never recommend this diet to a client. Ever. Temporary weight loss, probably caused by a reduction in water does not justify the risks of this diet. Ketoacidosis, meat, eggs an d fish everyday for breakfast, lunch and dinner.... no thanks.

The Zone Diet

"Feeling alert, refreshed and full of energy?" That's 'The Zone'... apparently. On the Zone Diet you don't eat any more or less calories than you normally would, you just eat them at a certain protein carb and fat ratios. This perfect ratio is said, by Barry Sears, author of the Zone diet, to promote a perfect metabolic state.

30% protien, 30% fat and 40% carbohydrates. This perfect ratio focuses on slow digesting carbohydrates, healthy fats and a protein intake that is specific to your age, gender and lifestyle.
The whole diet is based around controlling your insulin levels. The Zone diet approach is to think of the your food intake as a hormone regulator as opposed to a calorie boost.

Pro's: The diet promotes good eating habits. It's easy to follow. You think of your body in a different, healthier light. You get plenty of good fats. You get a better understanding of how foods affect your body.
Cons: There is no scientific research to justify Sears' claims, even throughout the whole of his book. The diet doesn't consider fibre and caloric density of foods. Some things that Sears says is OK, like high fat ice cream, might not be OK for people with health issues.
Should I do the Zone diet?: If you struggle with ratios then the Zone diet might be right for you. It's certainly not as controversial as the Atkins diet and it's definitely healthier. The 40-30-30 ratio is really easy to follow so you don't have to walk around with a food diary.

Intermittent Fasting

Intermittent Fasting is a well researched method of dieting. Michael Mosley, a medical journalist for the BBC, tried the intermittent fasting diet for a Horizon episode. The programme was based around research involving a certain type of mouse. The mouse had been engineered to produce low levels of a certain type of hormone, IGF-1.

The low levels of IGF-1 contributed to extremely low occurrences of age related diseases such as heart disease and diabetes. Low levels of IGF-1 are also linked to prolonged life.

There are three main ways to do intermittent fasting. Alternate day fasting (ADF) is a well researched method that involves one day of normal calorie consumption follow by a restricted calorie intake on the next day.

Another way to do intermittent fasting is the 5:2 method. Five days of normal eating and two days with a calorie restricted diet. The final method; 16 hours of fasting versus 8 hours of eating in a single day.

Pro's: There are many ways to incorporate IF to suit your lifestyle. Intermittent fasting has been linked to positive hormonal and body fat changes. You can eat normal, even on calorie restricted days.

Con's: Fasting days can be brutal. ADF is impractical.

Should I do Intermittent fasting?: Current research on humans is still lacking, especially with regards to the long term effects. I wouldn't necessarily recommend this diet to a client but if extreme measures were needed then I might suggest it.

The Slimming World Diet

The Slimming World diet has proven to be one of the most popular diets out there. Why? It works. It's easy to follow and you don't go hungry.

The diet is based around two days; a 'green' day and an 'original' day. On green days you are encouraged to eat plenty of whole foods like rice, pasta, legumes, vegetables, grains and pulses. On red days (original days) you are allowed fruits, vegetables and grains as well as lean meats, milk, cheese and 'healthy extras'.

This sounds like heaven but Slimming World still promotes weight loss through calorie restriction. This calorie restriction is mainly enforced through 'syns'. Syns are a daily allowance of bad or unhealthy foods and drink. The amount of sins you have per day depends on your goals.

Pros: The diet is very structured. It promotes healthy eating habits without feeling restricted. You get support from consultants. Slimming world provide you with a maintenance plan once you've achieved your goals.

Cons: The diet gives you a lot of responsibility making it easy to over eat so you have to be really willing to work hard.

Should I use The Slimming World diet?: This diet is perfect if you have plenty of time to plan meals. It's balanced and healthy provided you work hard enough. I would recommend this diet to someone who was self disciplined but just needed a bit of direction.

The Weight Watchers Diet

The Weight Watchers diet is a points based system that allocates 'pure points' to different foods. The points are based on the nutritional value of the food and every Weight Watcher has a certain number of points per day based on how much weight they want to lose.

The support provided by Weight Watchers drives the success of this diet. That and the weekly weigh in which gives dieters more of an incentive to lose weight.

Weight Watchers is almost like being part of a club, as you regularly meet with people who have similar goals to your own.

Pro's: Weight Watchers provides dieters with a lot of support. Weekly weigh ins really contribute to your success. Weight loss is achieved at a sensible rate. You meet like minded people. You become more food conscious and educated about what you're putting in to your body.

Con's: The points based system can be a little overwhelming for some people. The points based system can get addictive leading to poor nutritional choices. Sticking to this diet forever would be a challenge, even for the most self disciplined.

Should I do the Weight Watchers diet?: If you have a lot of time on your hands and you're happy to get pro-active and really learn about good nutritional decisions then this diet is recommendable. It's also good to meet like minded people and get plenty of support from consultants and fellow dieters.

The GI Diet

The GI diet (glycemic index) is actually bordering on being called a lifestyle. It's a different way of eating as opposed to the structured 'eat this, eat that' methods that most diets enforce.

Making better food choices is the main aim of the GI diet. Foods that are low on the glycemic index are picked for their ability to make you feel fuller for longer.

Consumption of low GI foods has also been linked to better HDL (high-density lipoproteins) and LDL (low-density lipoproteins) in the blood, as well as positive influences on insulin levels.

Pros: Massive health benefits from using the GI 'lifestyle'. Easy to follow once you're nutritionally educated. You're not constantly bombarded with hunger pains. The GI diet is a long term approach to healthy living, not a quick fix.

Cons: Your ability to control portion sizes will affect the efficacy of the diet.

Should I use the GI diet?: I would highly recommend this to anybody struggling with weight or low energy levels. The GI diet is the type of plan you don't necessarily have to fully incorporate straight away. You can make gradual changes to your nutritional intake. It's easy to follow and there are great health benefits if you can control portion sizes.

Detox Diets

There are many types of detox diets but they all have a similar role; to 'cleanse' the body of harmful substances such as alcohol, pesticides, food additives and saturated fat.

The duration of the detox diet depends on the type or brand of detox you go for but almost all of them involve lots of green tea, organics fruits and vegetables, juices and water.

Detox diets are very restricted, short term and nutritionally imbalanced. Detox diets are dangerous to be frank.

Pros: Rapid weight loss. Participants will normally increase the amount of fruits and vegetables in their diet.

Cons: Detox diets are often short lived. They're impractical. They leave you malnourished. There's no long term solution. There's no support or advice following completion.

Should I use a Detox diet?: Long term... No. This is a quick fix that doesn't last. The Detox diet is like replacing a broke headlight with a sellotaped on torch. Inefficient, time consuming and effectively useless in the long term. Short term... yes, but it must be done right!

Detoxing is only good if you're severely ill with gastrointestinal issues. Speaking of which, detox diets often cause high amounts of flatulence (which you deserve for doing it).

Jenny Craig Diet

The Jenny Craig diet uses a three-pronged approach to managing your health. Exercise plans to burn calories, nutritionally sufficient meals to provide you with the right amount of energy to promote a calorie deficit and counseling to help you understand you relationship with food.
Members of the Jenny Craig programme are provided with set meals that are nutritionally balanced, portion controlled and delivered to your door. You just add your own fruits, vegetables and low fat dairy produce.

Pros: All meals and snacks are nutritionally balanced, portion sized and delivered to your door. The food is real. The diet is an educational process that teaches members the importance of portion sizes and balanced diet.

Cons: You have to buy your own fruit and vegetables. The Jenny Craig diet is not a long-term plan.
Should I use the Jenny Craig diet?: If you’re a bit food lazy, really bad at managing your diet and a poor cook then the Jenny Craig diet be the solution to your problem. It’s not a long-term solution and it’s expensive but the educational advantages of the diet make up for the cost.
