20 minutes before breakfast
So we often here that there is no time for exercise and this has always made me laugh, because there are people out there with a similar or harder work and family schedule who smash it.
So it shouldn't be I haven't time, it's more like my health, weight or fitness doesn't mean as much to me as it does to some other(fitter people).
I wrote a blog over a year ago know where I researched and listed the average amount of time spent doing certain activities...
Obviously work came out on top, closely followed by watching tv and that's for the workers, the benefit types tv was the biggest time expense. However the UK average time spent on Facebook was still over that of the average time spent on exercise, so more time spent showing selfies of yourself than that of doing exercise.
So nobody can tell me that 20 minutes a day of exercise a day is impossible, and if they did I simply wouldn't believe them.
TRY THIS THEN....
Get out of your pit (bed) and have a coffee or whatever else wakes you up and then do 20 minutes of exercise outside. A twenty minute interval session and no more, the first ten minutes slow jogging to get warmed up and then short sprints of twenty, thirty second intervals. This is super hard work, boosts your metabolism for the day and has you burning fat all day.....most importantly you will feel great and be able to achieve more with your day.
Take the 20 minute challenge and start today..
Every challenge so far has had awesome results, so stop making excuses and spend 20 mins a day.

National chip week is ridiculous and should be banned
National chip week is ridiculous and should be banned
Well I almost choked today when i heard it was national chip week, i realise we have an affinity with potatoes which have been a staple diet in the UK for decades and that they probably helped us through the great war. However they are not one of our best sources of nutrients or energy.
Of all of our vegetables you could argue that the humble potato is the one you should eat less of, you see its a dense vegetable with a lot of calories which are all absorbed. Unlike cauliflower, broccoli etc which are fibrous carbs which per weight have much less calories than potato.
The other issue is generally chips are deep fried, or fried using one of the less healthy fats and normally covered in salt and vinegar.
Chips are often and normally eaten with the other blacklisted foods such as ready made meals, burgers, pies, monster mixed grills and deep fried mars bars etc........well you get the idea.
If you had a small amount of chips oven cooked with broccoli and other steamed veg with a chicken breast then it wouldn't be too bad, however that's just not how it goes.
NOT PART OF THE SOLUTION
So last time i checked the UK was the second most obese country in the world, the North East the second most obese area in Europe, North east is runner up in UK for child-hood obesity and diabetes and County Durham and Easington in particular was one of the most unhealthy places to live in Europe.
And we promote chip week and how awesome chips are all over the North Easts own "Real Radio" - "mmm good move.
Atleast at Ladies at Leisure you get the truth
So if i was in charge (god forbid) i would have holidays and weeks listed below:
- National Breakfast week, missing breakfast or leaving it too late is a huge factor when it comes to keeping fat on. If you don't believe me look up "sumo wrestlers diet"
- National organic food day, all of the non organic food and drink is literally filling us up daily with toxins which in turn make us dumber (i can't afford to get much dumber), fatter, unhealthier.
- Diets are bad day, this one will get me some flack from all of the diet people, MLM groups etc. Diets (all) have been proven over years of studies that over 90% of people eventually end up fatter with a slower metabolism. The studies where long term studies in America with all. You diet - You lose weight (up to 50% of which is muscle) because you now have a slower metabolism you get fat again. You diet again - You lose weight(up to 50% is muscle) even slower metabolism you get fat again. AVOID A DIET.
- Food truth week, all of the big food companies have to tell the truth all week. Cereals don't help you lose weight, fat free products in the supermarkets should be avoided, diet on the packaging generally means its full of sugar or salt, Fat free doesn't really mean fat free, margarine's are almost as bad as spreading melted plastic onto your toast.

Specialist weight loss in the North East
I think by now hopefully we associate booze with weight gain and being unhealthy, the more booze the bigger belly and that's generally the way it goes. I like a drink and i say everything in moderation.
Unlike carbs, protein and fat your body can't store alcohol, therefore the oxidation of alcohol takes priority over other macronutrients. So while your liver is busy trying to ditch those beers you drank, the use of fat as fuel is almost entirely suppressed.
So no fat burning potentially for days after a big piss up, can ruin a diet??
Alcohol is usually calorie dense and these calories definitely add up, also alcohol dehydrates and suppresses testosterone. So good-bye abs and hello beer belly, basically booze can ruin your health and rob you of muscle if your drinking gets out of control.
The problem is most people forget to add up the calories in all of their drinks, also alcohol can increase your appetite. The more you drink, the easier it is to just say "balls to this diet i am having a dominos or big fat curry.
And as the song goes " if you like pina coladas something something something" forgot the words anyhoo, a big pina colada can have as much as 600 calories.
Lack of sleep too can reduce weight loss and shorten your life span.
Next time you are at the pub take a look around, these people that spend all of their time in the pub or eating take-aways:
What do they look like? What is their health like? How happy are they?
Try it, it's not a pretty picture...
Even better, next time you are in Macdonald's, burger king, KFC look at the people around you, over half will be obese, most will have poor health, bad skin, poor hygiene.
Not all of course, and i have had the odd burger and kfc.
I have an alcoholic drink most weekends, however i train most days and generally eat well so the weekend booze isn't an issue.

Trainhard tabata in chester le street, its back on ladies.
It's been all over the tv this week as if it's a brand new thing? Tabata was invented by Dr Tabata in 1996, and he worked out that 4 mins 100% effort has a greater metabolic effect than 60 mins of slow cardio.
I was the first in chester le street providing a tabata class, my class trainhard tabata is just 10 minutes intense work in a 20 minute period.
Unlike metafit or similar classes we work on a different muscle groups each session, so if you attend mon-wed and thursday your muscles will all be worked and more importantly rested through-out the week.
We also use equipment and different training methods like overload and plyometrics.
I have been recovering from an injury but now it's back on again, monday 13th January.
Timetable
Monday 11am in LAL - 6.10pm at St Cuthberts catholic club
wednesday 11am in LAL - 6.10pm at St Cuthberts catholic club

small group personal training - chester le street & gateshead - 01913874222
small group personal training - chester le street & gateshead
If you are struggling to shift that stubborn belly fat or have put on the average 7lb of fat over the holidays you may need some help. Also for some ladies the cost for one on one personal training is just too much, that's why i am rolling out small group personal training.
So you will be working with no more than 5 other ladies and conducting 2 hours of personal training each week, either in the 7AM group or the 7PM group. The training days will be Monday and Wednesday each week which will give your muscles and nervous system just enough time to recover before your next sessions.
As well as being a cheaper way its also a great way of training properly with your friends or family, or making new life long friends. Nothing forms friendship like tough progressive fitness, and that's why the Army is such a family.
- You will have constant nutrition support, advice and meal plans.
- Full motivational and emotional support.
- Full access to my bodymap skills, which can remove pain, improve power and flexibility.
- Full access to all of my additional external classes.
For all of this amazing personal training working as a group its just £25 per week, works out as £12.50 a session. A huge discount from our £50 personal training prices.
Its all starting in this January, to get some more info or to grab a spot before they are all gone.
