Watching some trashy TV on 5 tonight, called got thin and fat again. I can see immediately why it isn't working for all of them. It's an absolute nightmare for these people though, i understand that.
It's pretty frustrating to watch, just heard a long term obese lady saying the sentence "tomorrow never comes". She is refering to procrastinating, because she had a bad day she would over eat and then leave it a long time before she started to eat well again.
Tomorrow does never come when it comes to hitting the gym, working out and nutrition. I always tell my clients, members and friends to start straight away on any fitness regime. Just never procrastinating again will ensure you stay in better shape.
Do not procrastinate
You see the people you see who are super fit and stay in shape do NOT procraste.
Form a habit
Start immediately and then get all the help you can to form a healthy habit. I also hear all the time that "err i dont like that or like this, can't eat this". Your taste buds change all the time and the things you hated in the past you may start to like. When i was in the forces i ate chips and bread all the time, and cereal for breakfast. In the cook house the food wasn't great and i didn't know what was good or bad, also doing exercise every day you will get fit and be able to eat more crap.
There are loads of tips, too many for on here but if you are desperate pop into the gym ladies at leisure for a chat.
Calorie negative diets are crap
Diet clubs alone, reduce calories putting your body into catabolism (which means it eats fat and muscle) if you keep doing it you can lose a lot of body weight. You will however lose almost as much muscle as fat and once you have less muscle your metabolism is slower burning fewer calories.
This is why they call it YO YO dieting folks.
This tv program claims that on average women lose their body weight 19 times over in a lifetime. BOOM.
So we are the fattest country in Europe and the North East of UK holds loads of the negative records for childhood diabetes, childhood obesity and adult coronary heart disease. We need to help ourselves on this.....
What can we do today
- Do some thing active every day
- Get the right advice (dont believe tv adds or government guidelines)
- Make food that hasn't got all of the calories listed on the side: veg, fruit,salad,meat,fish all real food dont need to have all of the components as it's real food.
- Remove stress from your life, if you don't then weight loss may be impossible.
- If your training isnt working then change it, you should be changing your training every 3 to 4 weeks. If you do the same regime it becomes less and less efective week on week, it could be also slowing your metabolism down leading to weight gain. Every athlete will be mixing up their training every couple of weeks. (you dont get fat athletes)
- Have more protein, protein foods like eggs, fish and meat use twice as much energy to be absorbed compared to carbs(thermogenic cost). Also protein is needed for muscle repair which is need for growth (more lean muscle burns more fat)
- Eat a nice protein rich breakfast, the best way to get fat is to avoid breakfast. (Sumo wrestlers are forced to wait as long as they can before eating their first meal) to get fat avoid breakfast.
